Christiaan Rudolph de Wet (7 Oktober 1854 – 3 February 1922), was born on the farm Leeuwkop in the Orange Free State. Initially he was recruited as burgher at the start of the Anglo-Boer War, but was quickly promoted to General , in part due to his masterful use of guerrilla tactics.  The British Forces were unable to apprehend him during the course of the War, and his infamy was immortalised when he was given the nickname “The Elusive One”. A cartoon in a French newspaper at the time of the War even depicted De Wet’s horse, Fleur, as having wings similar to the mythological Pegasus. At the end of the War he signed the Peace of Vereeniging as the acting President of the Orange Free State. In order to deal with his emotions regarding the War, he published his memoirs as “De Strijd tusschen Boer & Brit”, which was later translated to English as “The Three Year’s War”.

“If you hear that I have surrendered, deny it – for I will never surrender.” – C.R de Wet

The product looks exactly like the picture (which sounds stupid but sometimes the product you get does not look like the picture you ordered online). I ordered it as a gift for someone so I can’t say anything about the fit. I have bought myself a tee on a previous occasion and can say its good quality material (I have it now for 4 years to date). And I love the designs!
