DEEL HIERDIE ONTWERP

Clear

Pres.

Pres. Paul Kruger was sent to Europe during October of 1900, to ensure that his capture by the British will not lead to forcing the Boer Republics to surrender.

On 29 June 1904, President Kruger dictated his ‘Laaste Boodskap’ (Final Message) from his home in Clarens, Switserland, addressed to Gen. Louis Botha.

The letter contained the following phrase:

“For he who wants to build himself a future, dare not forget the past.

Hence: Seek from the past all that which is good and beautiful that might be found, and based upon this form your ideals & let the future turn these ideals into reality.”
